There’s Hair and Then There are Ingrown Hairs

What exactly is an ingrown hair? Good question! Ingrown hairs are usually the result of the hair being cut or broken off bluntly while waxing or shaving and when the hair grows back, it grows sideways or curls before making it outside the skin and continues to grow under the surface of the skin causing pain, discomfort and sometimes infection. This is most often seen with people who have curly hair or in regions where curly hair is grown.
