Tea tree oil is a natural product that has been used for decades as a skin care product and is now being used to treat acne. It can be used as an alternative to benzoyl peroxide, but if used as such you need to make sure it's diluted.

By moisturizing regularly you can help combat acne, especially in dry skin. When the skin is too dry, it will begin to crack allowing acne bacteria to enter the lower layers of the skin and, eventually, leading to infection.

So if you think acne treatments are important, you're in for a surprise. When acne is not treated or treated improperly it can lead to acne scars which are a much more serious skin problem.

Treating acne scars will depend on the type, extent and location of the scar tissue. Surgery is the most common treatment method, although scar creams can also be used.

Surgical Options for Scar Removal

Subcision

This surgical procedure is also known as subcutaneous incision. It involves the cutting of connective tissue that tethers the skin to the underlying scar tissue. In these cases, fillers may also be used to even out the skin.

Punch Excision

This procedure removes damaged skin and sutures the borders together. If the affected area is too large, then the specialist will choose to use grafted skin to replace the excised scar tissue. However, if the scar tissue is too deep then you may need a filler to raise the scar.

Acne Scars Creams

Scar creams can be quite effective for treating acne scarring. When looking for an acne scar cream you should make sure to look for ones that promote the production of collagen and elastin. Ingredients, such as enzymes and amino acids, should also be present in acne creams to help your body dissolve and eliminate scar tissue.
